The HTC Touch Diamond, also known as the HTC P3700 or its codename HTC Diamond [2] is a Pocket PC Windows Mobile 6.1 with engine designed and manufactured by HTC.It is the first device to feature TouchFLO 3D - a new version of TouchFLO, Touch one family.[3] The HTC Touch Diamond is available from Hong Kong in late May 2008.[4] [5] was available in all major European carriers in June 2008 and will be available later this year in other parts of the world [6].The American Touch Diamond was launched September 14, 2008 on the Sprint [7] Network and April 10, 2009 at Verizon Wireless [8].The European release date has been slightly delayed in the update last-minute drive.[9], the names of companies related to this phone is T-Mobile MDA Compact IV [4], [10 O2 XDA Diamond] and O2 XDA Ignite [11].It is the official successor of the HTC Touch.[12] The successor of Touch Diamond - HTC Touch The Pro2 - was announced in February 2009 to Q2 2009 version outside the United States and the estimated Q4 release for North America.
HTC has chosen technology resistive touch screen but not capacitive.The reason given by Horace Luke, the agent of innovation chief HTC, is that the resistive touch screen is better for the recognition of Asian characters.[13] However, the buttons under the screen and the buttons are pressed, have a capacitive touch sensitivity.This function is used by applying auto-focus camera of the camera as a finger approaches to press the button to take a picture.[14]
Lucas also noted that this device is thinner than HTC has developed to date [15].
Some people find that the battery life of the Touch Diamond is too short.Thus, batteries that offer twice the capacity of batteries include those sold by others and self HTC sells an extended battery with 50% additional capacity.[16] [17]
The screen turns off automatically when a person is in a call.This is to prevent the display to accept unwanted entries from the user's face when you make a call, but also requires the user to turn the screen on the appropriateness of using the screen.Withdrawal of the needle during a phone call, turns on the screen and launch the Notes application (if so, choose an option by the user).[18]

TouchFLO 3D Home tab
The HTC Touch uses TouchFLO 3D HTC single user interface.This interface makes it easier for users to perform common tasks using their fingers instead of a pencil.TouchFLO 3D is composed of chips, and the user switches between tabs by dragging your finger along the row of tabs at the bottom of the screen.The 10 maps are: [19]
Start - Displays the date and time, alarm time is set for the missed calls and calendar of events.Shaking off the clock displays appointments more.
People - Shows pictures of contacts in a Rolodex style that can be reversed.A scroll bar contacts replacement is also included on the right side of the tab for faster browsing.
Messages - Displays received text messages flying in and out of the screen.
E - Displays messages received by e-mail accounts up to 4 different e-mail in an envelope.Emails can be carried through.
Internet - Displays a link to open the Opera browser, bookmarks for favorite Web sites, and a built-in YouTube application.
Photos and Videos - displays photos and videos that can be reversed, and the buttons to start the camera to take pictures and record videos.
Music - Performance cover art of the music pages of a linear format.Music can be played directly from the card, and can forward / rewind when playing the regulatory progress.The library, which can be accessed by pressing the left, also uses the TouchFLO 3D interface that allows users to sort music by:

The HTC Touch uses Opera Mobile as its default Web browser, although Internet Explorer, a standard component of Windows Mobile is also included.It offers features such as tabbed browsing, better zoom, and the text stream.[20] The browser may change the page orientation between portrait and landscape modes depending on how the accelerometer detects the device is stationary (not Internet Explorer).Opera is also able to download a file directly on the device, provided that the internal storage device has enough free space.

Teeter is a video game that uses the Touch Diamond accelerometer in which the player guides a ball to a goal by tilting the device, avoiding obstacles such as walls and holes.The machine vibrates when the ball hits a wall, giving the illusion that a live bullet is inside the handset.

More than 1 million units were shipped in 6 weeks, against the HTC Touch, which took 5 months to reach the same stage.HTC has raised its sales forecast for 2008, 2 to 3 million units [21].
